Ofsted to inspect local schools from 2019

School and colleges in Guernsey and Alderney will be inspected by Ofsted, from September next year. This follows Education Scotland’s withdrawal as the inspectorate of local schools, to focus its resources on Scotland. We’re told the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture has explored various other options, and will work with Ofsted to develop an appropriate inspection framework.

New stamps celebrate Alderney Week’s 70th anniversary

Guernsey Post will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of Alderney Week by releasing some new stamps. Illustrator, Andrew Robinson, has tried to capture some highlights of the event – which will kick off on the 4th of August.
